VERDICT DELIVERED - SLEEP PEACEFULLY!

VERDICT DELIVERED – SLEEP PEACEFULLY!

The verdict on Ajmal Aamir Kasav has been delivered and the Indians can now go to sleep peacefully. But has justice been done?

There are different voices speaking in disparity on this issue.

Actor Rahul Bose just yesterday on television has said that it is not for a civilized society to hang any one. He said he disagrees with the laws of this land. This beautiful soul went on to say, that the terrorists should be reformed not punished, the only thing he did not say or could not say in front of the camera was that those terrorists caught should be set free.

Renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai in his film ‘Black & White’ did not agree with me and showed the terrorist reforming in the climax. Needless to add the film though appreciated by the critics did not do too well at the box office. I was the storywriter of this film.

Nevertheless, before we move forward allow me to remind you guys that two Indian Muslims Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed have been acquitted for want of enough evidence. It goes without asking that Ajmal Kasav and his gang of ten Pakistanis could not have succeeded in their macabre action without the most extensive & active local help, help given over months. They sheltered, provided the logistics and actively helped the terrorists, the only thing they did not do was pull the trigger. These two have walked free and left the police red faced. Whom do we blame for this blunder? Did the prosecution fail in preparing a watertight case against the two concerned or did the Mumbai police fail us yet again?

Just blaming the police or the prosecution would not be totally right. To put the picture in the right perspective, right since 1993, these terrorists have repeatedly and ruthlessly massacred thousands of Indians and yet not a single terrorist has been brought to justice in the real term or hanged. This speaks a lot about our politicians.

On the other hand, I would like to ask . . .

Will Manmohan Singh still want to shake hands with the Pakistanis?

Should Times of India continue with its “Aman Ki Asha” campaign? (Incidentally, why are they not carrying it today?)

Would Shah Rukh Khan still bat for Pakistan?

The sentiments and emotions of the majority of Indian citizens should be respected. Kavita Karkare wife of the slain hero Hemant Karkare says that Kasab should not be given a chance to go to the Supreme Court and he should be executed. She is not alone.

Even as you are reading my article thousands of Ajmal Aamir Kasavs are being prepared, trained in areas known and unknown to us. Some of them may already be among us.

Unfortunately the Con gress – NCP government whose parties are headed and controlled by the Gandhi family and Sharad Pawar have not taken the threat to our lives seriously, by not taking action on the brains behind terrorism they have been putting the lives of our brothers, sisters, and parents at a grave risk.

A small 11-year-old girl Devika was shot in the leg by the Pakistanis at the CST railway station, she even today needs crutches to walk. If she can boldly come forward before the court and the media to identify the killer Kasav, why are our politicians lacking the same zeal and enthusiasm to put a final stop to this menance? I ponder; do they have a hidden agenda? OR are they hiding something from us?

When we select leaders who treat the police as their private army, when we elect leaders for whom the investigative agencies are tools to fix rivals or let off allies, we should not expect the police and agencies to suddenly turn around and seize the terrorists.

Remember that nothing much can be achieved unless every politician is made answerable to the public and given stringent punishment if he/she has failed as the minister. We can never have a first rate commando force as long as we have third-rate politicians. We cannot have defense and intelligence personnel who will forestall the terrorists and courts that will let them off or enable them to live off our taxpayer’s money for years.

The parliament of India is attacked, guards are killed, one of the killers Afzal Guru is tried, convicted and sentenced by the Supreme Court. Eight years after the assault, his papers are still being processed. Rest be assured even Ajmal Aamir Kasav is going to live in air-conditioned comfort for years.

Yet the parrots of the Con gress party like Manish Tiwari, Manu Sanghvi and Jayanti Natrajan are ever ready with a thousand excuses, hiding behind the nuances of the legal system to hoodwink the gullible Indian citizens.

The BJP was no better when they were in power.

The reputed magazine ‘India Today’ about a year back had come out with a shocking issue titled ‘Impotent India’. I myself had also written an article with the same title. If after the latest verdict Afzal Guru and Ajmal Kasab, are not hanged what should be the title of my next article?

The verdict is not all that important as the execution of it is. If the terrorists are not hanged then who will speak for the victims of terrorism? Is this a government of the people, for the people, by the people OR . . .

Why is the present ruling government reluctant to execute the terrorists? Why are they hiding behind the office of the President?

For a violent problem, there can never be a non-violent solution. Diplomacy and the TOI sponsored ‘Aman Ki Asha’ are nothing but tools to keep conning the Indians for a longer time, right till it becomes too late to act.

Fifty-year-old Jamuna Waghela recalls the horror of 26/11; below I reproduce some paragraphs, which I have copied from the ‘Times Now’ site.

"At 10 pm, I was standing outside my house while my son and grandson were having dinner. Two persons (Kasav and Ismail) came dashing down the lane outside and one of them, later identified as Ajmal Kasav, stopped near my house when I asked him what he wanted," recounted Jamuna.

"His associate immediately opened fire at me but luckily the bullets did not hit me. I hid behind a hut as Kasav walked up to my son and asked for water," said Jamuna, whose husband Budhai (60) too is a sweeper at GT hospital.

"I could see my son offer Kasav a glass of water with trembling hands. The terrorist gulped it down and coolly shot at my son who slumped to the ground as I watched helplessly in horror," she said clutching Thakur's photo.

She, however, thanks God for the little mercy shown to her. "Kasav did not see my grandson or he would have got killed too.

Today thanks to the ‘Sickularists’ the law of the jungle pervades in all our cities and towns hence The Wolves Rule Not the Sheep.

Before concluding, I would suggest that all those who have become the victims of terrorism since 1993 Mumbai serial bomb attacks to the Pune bakery bomb attack in 2010 should try to contact each other and come together on a common platform so as to put pressure on the present Con – NCP govt to hang all the terrorists immediately. This could be a small but constructive step forward, which could be of immense help to the country and its citizens in the days to come.

The concerned citizens will have to come out and be more vocal, you may have to shout, scream and howl to be heard.

Nearly seventy thousand have been killed by terrorism and we are still debating whether we should have more stringent laws like MOCCA or POTA. Seventy thousand killed and we are still debating if we should execute the sentenced terrorists or not. Seventy thousand killed and yet the Times Of India newspaper has the audacity to campaign in support of Pakistan under the name of ‘Aman Ki Asha’ – destination peace.

Were Sandeep Unikrishnan, Gajendra Singh Bisht and Tukaram Omble stupid to sacrifice their lives for us Indians? Ofcource they were not. They are the real heroes and brave martyrs. Yet the present ruling govt and sections of the media could be perceived as sending a different message. For how long will our security forces be used as sacrificial goats?

Though the present govt is bent on administering us with different sedatives the time is not right to sleep peacefully. For all you know the bed in which we are fast asleep could turn . . . .
